I'm Wendy Campbell, an experienced real estate agent affiliated with Power Brokers International, and I'm a full-time resident of the desert. The Palm Springs regional area aka the Coachella Valley is fast becoming an epicenter of art and design, music and party events, fashion and film, golf and tennis, health and wellness. Besides basking in the sun, people appreciate the fact that it's not crowded here! We have little traffic, clean air, balmy weather for most of the year, and natural beauty surrounds us in abundance. Yet, the home prices offer unbelievably great value compared to San Francisco, Los Angeles, coastal cities and, of course, other super-charged markets like NYC! This area is a great place to make your primary or secondary home. Only a couple hours east of LA, if you ever miss Big City Life or the beaches! It's a buyers' market now, so take advantage of it while you can!
The desert is a multi-faceted housing market: resort, second home, and more and more: year-round. It's also a great market for investors. There is still some flipping going on, and some find it lucrative to rent out their properties either seasonally or year-round. This area is hugely popular for tourists who prefer to rent a house or condo for a month to six months during our season, when so many hot events, whether music, tennis, golf, film, fashion, equestrian or art-related, are happening in full force. During the winter months, this area only competes with Hawaii and south Florida for the most desirable place to be in the United States. The desert is a true paradise on earth for eight months of the year-- a home to celebrities, statesmen, industry leaders, fun-seekers and simply everyone who loves this area. Festival goers love it here, too! We've got so many, it's hard to keep track, such as Coachella, Stagecoach, Desert Trip and more! Keep in mind, this area also offers world class dining and shopping, and has a lively social scene!
Sellers can count on me to have continuous open houses every weekend until the right buyer comes along. I also pitch my listings at both Palm Springs and California Desert Area agents meetings. You will have lots of exposure on the internet on over 50 real estate websites once I list it on the MLS. For absentee owners, I include "concierge service" / "property maintenance" services for my listings. For instance, I sweep and dust just prior to my open house, and make sure everything is in working condition. If something needs attention, such as a running toilet or painting or any other such home maintenance, I will make myself available to give service people access to the property and supervise as necessary. You can trust me to be your eyes and ears on the ground here! I can recommend services or you may already have your favorites, and then you just pay them directly.
Buyers often contact me for guidance when seeking to buy real estate here in the desert. I network at a variety of events, not only at real estate events but also many art, fashion and polo events. I check out all the sales activity in the valley on the MLS every day and tour many properties every week to keep up to date on the inventory here in the desert.
